is it okay if i start playing an acoustic guitar before classical?

im thinking of selling my classical and get an acoustic instead.. what do you think? :/

Of course it's ok! :-) If you don't want to play classical music than no sense in owning a classical guitar right?

Unless your interest is in Classical go with an acoustic and play what your heart tells you.
I went Classical first, then found it easy to do both, and I think it would work both ways.

classical guitar is an acoustic guitar but with nylon strings and a slightly smaller body than a standard steel string guitar (a.k.a. a folk guitar or western style guitar)
As an instructor I would definitely suggest starting on a steel string guitar and learn some basic techniques before deciding to play classical guitar.
Classical guitar is the most demanding form of guitar there is and requires years of practice to develop a strong repertoire.
Learn to play on a steel string and decide later if you want to learn classical guitar

Playing a classical guitar is all about TECHNIQUE.. so by LEARNING to play first on a CLASSICAL guitar, it makes your playing that much better when you go to Acoustic.

I have a Taylor Nylon String Grand Auditorium NS34 that I use for keeping my playing sharp and a Martin D-18 for playing shows in addition to the Taylor
